Ken fronts for a soda brand and plans to wrestle a polar bear at a zoo, yet he quietly asks whether the crowds truly love him.

Elsewhere, M. Bison seethes over his own limits. His body is too weak to wield psycho power, and the energy harvested from Metro City’s strongest men is not enough. He wants a warrior with the power of the heart, and he wants Ryu. A newscaster, Don Sauvage, is forced back on air to apologize for old insults and announces that Bison will host the second World Warrior tournament. ACT II: THE INVITATION

Chun-Li finds Ken after one of his fights and introduces herself. She is recruiting the greatest fighters on Earth for the second tournament at Bison’s coliseum, eight warriors with no rules. Ken first refuses, insisting he has moved on, and she calls him a sideshow. When she asks about Ryu, Ken is stung, and he later accepts her offer on one comic condition about keeping things professional.

An emissary tracks down Ryu, who has withdrawn from combat to cook nourishing meals. He refuses to fight, citing a promise he made, and says his hands once destroyed and now only feed. Told that Ken has accepted Bison’s invitation and is already heading to Metro City, Ryu is shaken. A dark presence, Akuma, confronts him and threatens to destroy whoever wins the tournament unless Ryu faces him.

ACT II: METRO CITY

In Metro City, Ken and Dan run into Guile, who trades insults with them and needles Ken about Ryu not being in the draw. Ryu then arrives at Ken’s hotel to warn him not to compete, saying he must not be the one who wins. Ken, still raw from six years of silence, hears only contempt, and a bitter argument ends with Ken throwing him out, mocking that Ryu is not even on the roster.

Meanwhile, Chun-Li reports to her Interpol colleagues, who doubt her claim that Bison is about to unleash a psycho weapon. Determined, she resolves to take Bison down herself. The night before the tournament, Don Sauvage announces the dream match, and Ryu is suddenly in the field. Dan admits he invited Ryu so the brothers could reconcile, and the fighters brawl in the corridors. Ryu is then taken to Bison’s spire, and Chun-Li, trusted by Bison for having delivered him, accepts a mark on her hand to prove her loyalty.

ACT II: THE TOURNAMENT AND THE TRAP

Bison hosts Ryu at a strange snail banquet. He recalls watching Ryu defeat Sagat and offers to quiet the voices in Ryu’s head, but Ryu refuses to show his power. Bison announces that Ryu has withdrawn, and Ken advances. Chun-Li’s superiors try to pull her out, and she refuses, warning that Bison will drain Ryu to supercharge himself. Bison sends Blanka against Ryu, promising to find Blanka’s lost mother. Ryu is captured and strapped to Bison’s machinery as his energy is extracted.

Chun-Li tells Ken that Ryu is a captive, but Ken insists this is his moment after years in Ryu’s shadow. Dhalsim urges him to let go of pride, and Ken replies that he fights only for victory. As Bison nears full power, Chun-Li’s cover collapses. She accuses Bison of murdering her father, and Vega is ordered to teach her a lesson. ACT III: CONFESSION AND THE CLIMAX

Ken finds Ryu hooked to Bison’s machine, and the arena erupts into chaos. Blanka, freed from Bison, befriends a bystander. Ryu resolves to face Akuma alone, and Ken insists on joining him. Then Ryu confesses what he never told him: Ken was invited to the first tournament, and Ryu destroyed the invitation out of jealousy, afraid of his own growing darkness. Ken is devastated, and the brothers fight in anguish. Their rage burns out in forgiveness.

Akuma appears, with power pouring off him, and pushes Ryu to give in to the dark. Ryu answers with Gouken’s way of honor. The fight leaves Ryu broken, and Ken brings him back from the brink with a very Ken-like act of absurd tenderness.

FINAL RESOLUTION: A BISON HUNT

With Bison now at full psycho power, the group regroups. Chun-Li offers the exhausted fighters a lift, and Ken, Dan, Ryu and Chun-Li pile into a car with the radio blasting, bickering all the way. They are going on a bison hunt, and the film’s story ends with them riding toward the showdown.

The film’s strongest decision is its emotional spine. Beneath the celebrity gags, the Ryu and Ken story is a clean tragedy about envy, and Ryu’s confession lands because the film has quietly seeded it from Gouken’s early warnings. Ken’s arc, from hollow performer to a man who chooses his brother over glory, gives the loud material a human center.

The tone is the film’s biggest gamble. Its broad, irreverent humor runs through almost every scene, from the endorsement jokes to the radio singalong, and early reactions have called the plot unfocused and the dialogue uneven. That matches what the story structure suggests. Bison’s scheme, Chun-Li’s vendetta, Blanka’s search for his mother and Akuma’s threat all compete for room, and a few threads feel crowded.

Even so, the thematic takeaway is sharp: power taken or hoarded corrodes, while honor and honesty heal. Gouken’s lesson that envy is the seed from which evil grows is proven by every major character, and the ending, with the heroes still heading toward Bison, leaves the true showdown to be settled.
